Exchanging the Word, or what I now see as ‘Connectionism’, is a way of focusing closely on another. This method, drawn from the central ingredient of counselling, enables us to empty our self in such a way that we can release a clarity otherwise hard to attain. The process of Connectionism can reinforce this clarity which can sometimes emerge as a new wisdom or a revelation of contact with something real in a world often buried in error. Through Connectionism an individual can become both enwisened and emancipated.
